Are you ready? We are! Our UPSL spring home opener is a few days away and the team has been working hard behind the scenes in anticipation of a competitive Midwest-South division. In our inaugural season (2021) the division had 5 teams, this season (2022) the division has expanded to 8 teams, the newcomers being St. Louis Fusion, Santa Fe Wanderers, Dodge City Toros and the Iowa Raptors. Sunflower FC left the UPSL in favor of the NPSL.
So what should you expect for our first home game this season?
New Coach & Team – At the end of last year, we announced our new head coach, Lewis Derrett. Following his announcement, the team went through the process of tryouts and later on signed new players to join this years campaign. So expect to see some new faces on the field and a new style of play. Click here to check out our updated player roster.
New Sponsors – Without their support, the team will not be where we are now. Being a new team in tow, we work hard to minimize the costs incurred by the players, so we utilize these sponsorships and partnerships to offset the team costs. Game Day – The home opener will be played at Stryker Sports Complex on Sunday, May 8th. Kickoff is at 4pm, so make sure you get there in time to purchase your tickets and merchandise. Both will be available at the booth although we encourage you to get your tickets online. We plan on streaming the game for those who will not be able to attend (Link will be provided an hour before kickoff on our social media).
