With teams from Kansas and surrounding states, the Wichita Wagonmasters Downtown Chili Cookoff has been a Wichita tradition for over 30 years. Since 2005 when the Wagonmasters took over the event and brought it back Downtown, the event has exploded with a renewed level of enthusiasm by contestants and attendees alike.
This year the event returns to the Douglas and St. Francis intersection on Saturday, October 1st, and Inter Wichita will make sure to be there with a booth set up. So make sure to come by, pay us a visit, and taste some of our Chili, buy ruffle tickets, and chat with some of our staff and players.
The Wichita Wagonmasters Downtown Chili Cookoff is held in the 500 block of East Douglas Avenue. That is Douglas Avenue right by Naftzger Park.
Getting there from North or South: Take I-135 to Hwy 54/400/Kellogg Ave and take Kellogg to the west. Take the Central Business District exit on Kellogg. Turn right (North) on Broadway. Parking will available surrounding the footprint. We suggest the Rotary lot on 2nd and St. Francis, or parking lots/street parking throughout Old Town.
