WICHITA, KS – International Wichita FC’s open tryouts this past weekend exceeded all expectations! We had an incredible turnout, with more local talent showing up than we ever anticipated. The energy, passion, and skill on display were nothing short of impressive, making this one of our most competitive tryouts to date.
A Strong Pool of Local Talent
Head Coach Kent Freund was highly encouraged by the level of play, stating: “It was a good group of players, and there was tremendous talent on display. We saw a lot of potential, and it’s clear that Wichita has a strong soccer culture.”
From technical skills to tactical awareness, players gave it their all, pushing through high-intensity drills and competitive scrimmages. The coaching staff was impressed by not only the individual talent but also the teamwork and dedication shown throughout the session.
Next Steps: The Second Round of Tryouts
With such a competitive pool, we are excited to invite selected players to a second round of tryouts. This next phase will give us a closer look at how these players perform in a structured team environment as we finalize our roster for the upcoming season.
The final round will include more advanced tactical drills, full-field scrimmages, and deeper evaluations to determine which players will officially join International Wichita FC for the season ahead.
A Huge Thank You to All Participants
We want to thank everyone who came out to compete and show their love for the game. If you weren’t selected for the second round, don’t be discouraged—keep working hard, and we hope to see you again in the future.
